The PGA TOUR playoffs tee off next week, but players can still qualify for the postseason at this week’s Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. If you’re looking to build your bankroll before the FedExCup playoffs, one option to consider is playing cash games or double-up contests on DraftKings. If that’s the format you’re looking to attack this week, my top fantasy golf cash game picks for the Wyndham Championship are Matt Fitzpatrick ($10,600), Pierceson Coody ($7,700) and Emiliano Grillo ($7,500).

Think of cash game picks as laying back and playing a par 5 as it was designed, taking three shots before reaching the green in search of a solid birdie. Tournament picks are like going driver off the deck to try to reach the green in two — more reward if it works, but much more risk, as well.
These fantasy golf cash game picks are best used in “cash games,” which are contests that pay out to about the top half of entries. Typically, they are in the 50/50s & Double Ups or Head-to-Head sections of the DraftKings lobby.

Matt Fitzpatrick ($10,600)
The top three golfers with salaries over $10,000 all have strong cases to be the centerpiece of your cash game lineup this week, but of the three, Fitzpatrick seems to be the strongest and safest play.
He comes into this event red-hot after finishing T8 at the Rocket Classic, T4 at the Genesis Scottish Open and T4 again at The Open Championship. Zooming out further, he has made the cut in 10 straight individual tournaments, including each of the four majors this season. His best finish in those three tournaments was a T8 at the PGA Championship.
Fitz leads the field in Total Strokes Gained over the last 16 rounds, while ranking second in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green and in the top 20 in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and Strokes Gained: Approach. Although his putter can run a little hot and cold, his best surface over the last year has been Bermuda grass, like he’ll face this week.
In his career, Fitzpatrick has only played at Sedgefield one time, finishing T36 in 2018. Even though he doesn’t have a ton of course experience, his recent form is strong enough that he can still be a lock for your cash game lineup.
Pierceson Coody ($7,700)
The 25-year-old Texan is one of the young players on the rise to watch this week. He is coming off a T3 at the 3M Open last week after he produced four straight rounds of 67 or better. He’s one of my top fantasy golf cash game picks based on his high ceiling and solid floor at Sedgefield this week.
He narrowly missed out on a full-time PGA TOUR card last year, finishing 131st after the FedExCup Fall. As a result, he split time this year between the PGA TOUR and the Korn Ferry Tour. He has looked good in his PGA TOUR appearances with seven made cuts in nine tournaments and three top 25 finishes in his five most recent tournaments.
He has also been very strong on the Korn Ferry Tour with seven top 10 finishes this season, including a pair of runner-up finishes. He’s currently No. 7 on the Korn Ferry Tour points list, which could be his path back to a full-time spot on the PGA TOUR next year.
Last week, Coody ranked third in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and also ranks fifth in that category over the last 20 rounds. Since work off the tee is especially critical this week, he should be ready to post another solid finish.
Last year, Coody made the cut in his debut at Sedgefield, finishing T61, but he could greatly improve that result this week based on his strong form and his good numbers throughout the year on the Korn Ferry Tour.
Emiliano Grillo ($7,500)
Like Coody, Grillo is coming off a strong week in Minnesota. He turned in four rounds under 70 to finish T20. That showing was strong enough to move him inside the top 70 with one event to go. Only he and winner Kurt Kitayama ($8,800) went from outside the playoffs to inside the playoffs last week, and he’ll look to hold onto that playoff spot with another strong performance.
Overall, Grillo has assembled a solid season, making 15 cuts in 21 events and posting eight top 25 finishes. His best finish was a runner-up loss in a playoff at the John Deere Classic a few weeks ago, and just before that he had top 25 finishes at the U.S. Open, RBC Canadian Open and the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Grillo has been an excellent shotmaker this season, ranking fourth in the field in Strokes Gained: Approach and seventh in the field in Total Strokes Gained over the last 30 rounds. His accuracy should pay off this week and give him a chance to be a solid option as a fantasy golf cash game pick.
Grillo hadn’t played Sedgefield for seven years before returning in 2024, when he made the cut and finished T59. With how well he has played throughout this year, he’s a good value play to make the cut and produce good numbers, which makes him a solid option at only $7,500.
