What happened to Ian Happ? Live injury updates for Cubs vs. Brewers 7/29/25

In the top of the eighth inning of Tuesday’s game vs. the Brewers, OF Ian Happ fouled a pitch off his foot and exited the game. Vidal Bruján entered the game to pinch hit.

Before exiting the game, Happ recorded one hit in three trips to the plate. The Cubs will play Milwaukee again on Wednesday and will hope that this is just a bruise and Happ will be back in the lineup. He’s having a rough season in 2025, only batting .226, his worst mark since 2021. There’s still plenty of time to turn things around, however, as a good postseason performance would put all of that behind him.
