Major League Baseball is ready to roll with another jam-packed, 30-team schedule on Monday with new series starting all around the league. Let’s dive into the action and examine some of the top starting pitcher prop bets on the board. All 30 probable pitchers ready to take the mound on Monday have fun starting pitcher prop bets to consider, but my top three for the day come from Chris Bassitt, Chase Burns and Frankie Montas.

Best Starting Pitcher Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Chris Bassitt under 2.5 earned runs allowed (+105)
Bassitt and the Blue Jays are in Baltimore to face the Orioles, and I really like the odds on him to allow under 2.5 earned runs at even money. It’s one of my top starting pitcher prop bets for the night and a great place to start in the earliest game on the board.
Bassitt is an impressive 11-4 this season with a 3.88 ERA, 3.84 FIP and 8.7 K/9. He has allowed 52 earned runs in 21 starts for an average of 2.5 earned runs per start.
He gave up three runs against the Yankees in his most recent outing after the All-Star break, but he was under this run total in each of his three previous games, including two starts of 6+ innings.
Bassitt faced the Orioles in Baltimore earlier this year and allowed one run in six innings to earn his first win of the season. Even though they’re getting healthier, they still haven’t found their stride at the plate (beating up on the Rockies doesn’t count).
Bassitt should be able to hold them in check on Monday as the division-leading Blue Jays look to build on their 5 1/2 game lead on the Yankees and 6 1/2 game lead on the Red Sox coming into the week.
Chase Burns over 6.5 strikeouts thrown (+125)
Burns has been very impressive in his first five starts in the majors, with one mulligan against the Red Sox but four very strong outings. I highlighted Burns in my MLB DFS value plays of the day, and I think he has a good chance to step up with a big start on a big stage against the Dodgers.
In four of his five starts, he has picked up at least seven strikeouts, and he had 10 strikeouts in each of his last two starts against the Rockies and Nationals.
On the season, the 22-year-old has a 35.0% K% and a 14.5 K/9. Even if he does give up runs, he still typically gets enough strikeouts to go over this strikeout line, which are very favorable odds at plus-money.
The Dodgers have a dominant lineup, but it has been scuffling the last few weeks. Over the last 30 days, the Dodgers have the second-lowest batting average in the majors and have a 24.4% K% that ranks fifth in the majors. Over the last week, they have 55 strikeouts in six games, averaging just over one per inning.
With Burns’ elite stuff, he should be able to get over this strikeout line in Monday’s starting pitcher prop bets, and he continues to showcase the upside that made him the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft.
Frankie Montas over 16.5 outs recorded (-125)
Former Red Frankie Montas continues to work his way back to full strength, and he should be able to get through at least 5 2/3 innings on Monday night on the road at pitcher-friendly Petco Park.
Montas has gone exactly 5 2/3 (17 outs) in two of his last three outings while only going five innings (15 outs) in his other start. He has won three straight starts but has given up seven runs in 16 1/3 innings over those outings.
His pitch count has been increasing, though, in each of those three games, and he has worked up to 91 pitches in his most recent outing against the Angels last week.
Montas has typically done a good job of eating innings when he’s healthy, and he should be in a favorable matchup against the Friars on Monday night. Over the last 30 days, the Padres have only averaged 3.6 runs per game and have not hit for much power at all.
Montas has made three appearances against the Padres in his career and worked at least six innings each time. While it’s no lock he’ll get to that number on Monday night, it is one of my favorite starting pitcher prop bets on the board, and it’s a good way to close out the night in one of the later games on the schedule.
