For the final event before the FedEx Cup Playoffs, the PGA TOUR is hosting the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club (par 70, 7,131 yards, Bermuda greens) in Greensboro, North Carolina. This track has hosted the Wyndham Championship since 2008 and Aaron Rai (-18) won this event last season by two strokes. This week’s field features 156 golfers and there will be a standard top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds. The top-70 players in the FedEx Cup Standings following the Wyndham Championship will qualify for next week’s playoff opening FedEx St. Jude Championship, so players outside or hovering around that line will be extremely motivated at Sedgefield CC this week.
Sedgefield CC was designed by Donald Ross and is a tree-lined course that presents narrow fairways, small greens, 52 bunkers and water in play on six holes. Sedgefield CC is a venue that favors accuracy over distance and finding the fairway often will be an advantage this week, as three of the last five winners have finished the tournament top-five in driving accuracy. However, being in pristine form with both your irons and putter is most important at Sedgefield CC. Each of the last two winners at this par 70 have led their field in SG APP and three of the past five victors at Sedgefield CC have finished the event top-eight in SGP.
This Ross design is a classic par 70 with 12 par fours and eight of these holes fall between 400-450 yards. Three of the last five Wyndham Championship winners have finished the week top-three in efficiency on the 400-450-yard par fours of Sedgefield CC and targeting players who score well on this length of par four is smart this week.

Top DraftKings PGA TOUR DFS Bargain Plays for the Wyndham Championship
Jesper Svensson ($7,300) – Svensson has never competed at Sedgefield CC before, but the Swede has been very consistent this season and is an awesome bargain at this low salary. Svensson has advanced to the weekend in 15 of his 19 solo starts this season and his last two outings have been impressive. After finishing T16th at the Open Championship – marking the best major finish of his career – Svensson finished T14th at the 3M Open last week. In that latter start, the 29-year-old gained strokes across the board at TPC Twin Cities, and he posted a career-low 6-under 63 in the third round.
Svensson has shot under par in 12 of his last 16 rounds, and he ranks 16th in total strokes gained when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds. Sitting 105th in the FedEx Cup Standings, Svensson needs to contend at Sedgefield CC this week to extend his season, and he brings great upside with the extra motivation.
Andrew Novak ($7,300) – This price tag is far too low for Novak in this weak field. The 30-year-old is having a stellar season, making 15-of-22 cuts with nine top-25 finishes, including a win at the team based Zurich Classic with Ben Griffin as his partner. Furthermore, Novak finished runner-up at the RBC Heritage and T3rd at the Valero Texas Open.
Novak ranks 12th in the FedEx Cup Standings, and he sits at a career-best No.31 in the world golf rankings, after starting the season at No.123. Novak has finished T33rd and T52nd at the last two Wyndham Championships, and he should outdo himself with a career-best showing at the Ross creation this week.
Chris Kirk ($7,200) – Kirk has made the cut in six of his last seven starts at Sedgefield CC – most notably with a T11 in 2018 – and he has been excellent recently. In his last five starts, Kirk has finished T12th, runner-up, 64th, MC and T14th, in that order. That T12 to begin this run came at the U.S. Open and that T14 in his last start came just last week at the 3M Open, in which he gained strokes in every major category at TPC Twin Cities.
This late surge by Kirk has quickly moved him up the FedEx Cup Standings, but he is still right outside the bubble for next week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship at No.73 in the rankings. Kirk needs to have a strong showing at Sedgefield CC this week to keep his season alive and the six-time PGA TOUR winner is an elite target with plenty at stake.
William Mouw ($7,100) – Mouw’s game is ascending right now, and he should be highly motivated to contend in his Wyndham Championship debut this week, as he currently sits No.80 in the FedEx Cup Standings. In his last four starts, Mouw has finished T34th, MC, first and T7th, in that order. That breakthrough victory came at the ISCO Championship two weeks ago, and Mouw carded a career-low 9-under 61 in the final round of this win. Then, the 24-year-old finished T7th at the 3M Open last week, while shooting 67 or better in all four rounds.
Mouw gained strokes with both his irons and putter in these past two starts, and he ranks first in total strokes gained when we analyze this field’s last eight rounds. While he has no previous history at Sedgefield CC, Mouw has the potential for a top-10 finish if he can maintain his tremendous form.
