One of the long-awaited injury layoffs in the WNBA is over. Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink is set to return from her ACL tear on Tuesday night.
The second overall pick in the 2024 draft played 15 games in her rookie season. She was an impact defender from the get-go, averaging 2.3 blocks and 1.1 steals per game. Unfortunately, a torn ACL cost her what would have been an incredible debut year. Now, over 13 months later, she’s ready to step back on the court.
Brink returns to a Sparks team that was dead in the water until recently. The winners of five straight, their offense has been on a scorcher. Now, Brink arrives to bring some stability to this defense while they look to make a playoff push. It couldn’t have come at a better time for Los Angeles.
