CHI Cubs Moneyline (-185)
We’ll start with the chalkiest pick on this parlay, the Chicago Cubs. They’re 60-42 on the campaign and just 3-3 since the All-Star break, but the Cubs remain one of the MLB’s top teams without a shadow of a doubt. Their offense ranks within the top five in most offensive categories, essentially the opposite of the 37-66 White Sox with one of the worst-performing batting orders in the MLB. Stud pitcher Shota Imanaga takes the mound for the Cubs tonight as well with a 2.40 ERA and 0.92 WHIP, so we’re looking at a potentially-dominant outing in this cross-town rivalry.
TEX Rangers Moneyline (-151)
The Rangers finally look like a team capable of making the playoffs with a 5-1 record since the All-Star Game which has them 53-50 on the campaign at third in the AL West chase. Texas’ pitching staff absolutely dominates opponents, and with newfound run support behind the arms, they’re in prime position to take the first game of this series against the Atlanta Braves tonight. Nathan Eovaldi draws the start and he’s out for revenge after being snubbed from an All-Star nod with a miniscule 1.58 ERA and 0.85 WHIP while striking out 94 batters in 91.0 innings. The Braves have upside, but they’re inconsistent and may struggle against a great pitcher.
SEA Mariners Moneyline (-126)
Rounding out this three-leg parlay are the Mariners, who sit 55-48 this year at second in the AL West but emerged from the All-Star break at 4-3 over their last seven contests. Seattle suffered a couple of ugly losses in that span but they’re still one of the most exciting offenses in all of baseball with a top-10 ranking in OPS, runs, and homers. They have plenty of star power and just added Josh Naylor to that collection of talent via trade, though their lineup for tonight hasn’t yet been announced. Regardless of Naylor’s status, starter Bryan Woo gives Seattle the upper hand over Jose Soriano and the 49-54 Los Angeles Angels, who the Mariners just beat 4-2 to open this series yesterday.
