There’s baseball happening all throughout the day on Wednesday, but this article will be strictly focusing on tonight’s featured five-game MLB DFS slate on DraftKings.

SP Patrick Corbin, Texas Rangers vs. Athletics, $7,500
I can not believe we’ve reached the place where I’m actively excited to put Patrick Corbin in a DFS lineup, but here we are. The veteran southpaw has started 18 games and thrown 99.0 innings for the Rangers in 2025, managing to maintain respectable marks in both ERA (3.91) and FIP (4.22). Corbin’s been even better in his four most recent outings, pitching to a 2.78 ERA and a 3.18 FIP with a slightly above average 22.1% strikeout rate. This includes tossing 5.2 scoreless frames against the Tigers to begin Texas’ second-half last Friday. The man has been pretty good. There’s not much else to say.
Meanwhile, for all the home run pop that the top of the Athletics’ order possesses, this remains a very good matchup to exploit with cheaper arms in daily fantasy. There’s simply so much strikeout upside with this lineup. In fact, in July, the A’s have struck out in 28.1% of their plate appearances — by far the highest mark in MLB. Drawing the Athletics away from the hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park in a win for Corbin, too.
2B Marcus Semien, Texas Rangers vs. Athletics, $4,000
While a truly horrendous beginning to the season still has Semien’s overall numbers looking like garbage, the veteran infielder has been a completely different player the past two months. Since May 30, Semien is slashing .293/.364/.534 with a .241 ISO and a 149 wRC+. That stretch includes three home runs in just 46 at-bats against LHPs, which makes sense, as Semien has always been strong within the split throughout his career. Expect the former All-Star to be back in the three-spot tonight versus JP Sears ($6,300).
Sears has been incredibly inconsistent in 2025, and though there have been some dazzling outings, the lefty enter’s Wednesday’s action in possession of a 5.13 ERA and a 5.04 FIP. Sears has also conceded 1.86 opponent home runs per nine this season — the highest mark of the 66 men who have thrown at least 100 innings. That sounds like a matchup you want to take advantage of.
OF Davis Schneider, Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees, $3,000
Variance is important on an MLB DFS slate this small and the Blue Jays present an opportunity for differentiation on Wednesday night. On the one hand, the team will face-off with Max Fried ($9,800), the most expensive asset in this player pool and owner of the ninth-lowest qualified ERA in MLB (2.43). On the other, Toronto is sporting the league’s highest wRC+ in the month of July (126) and the last time Fried started at Rogers Centre, the Jays scored 12 runs. It’s far from a guarantee that it’ll happen again, yet it’s a reminder that not every ace is a sure thing every time they take the mound. That’s not even to mention Fried’s blister issue.
As for Schneider, it’s not a large sample size, as the utility man has been primarily used as a platoon bat since getting re-called from Triple-A to start June, but the results have been magnificent. In his last 79 plate appearances, Schneider owns a .380 OBP, a .273 ISO and a 155 wRC+. For his career, Schneider has mustered a .228 ISO versus southpaws. He’s got some real upside at a price tag well-below $4,000.
