Despite playing for two different teams last season, Davante Adams recorded over 1,000 receiving yards for the fifth straight season. He was traded from the Raiders to the Jets midseason, before being released by New York on March 4th. Just five days later, Adams and the Rams agreed to a two-year $46 million deal with $26 million guaranteed.
Adams will join a receiver room headlined by Puka Nacua. Nacua will continue as the number one option, and I expect Adams to slot in as the secondary option. At 32 years old, Adams may not be what he once was, but he remains a solid option in fantasy football. Adams finished in a tie for the 11th most FPTS by a wide receiver last season on DraftKings. His 17.9 FPTS per game was the 10th best among wideouts.
Adams was the clear-cut number one option in Las Vegas. Then, he was Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target in New York. Now, he will have to play second fiddle to Puka Nacua. Despite being further down the pecking order, Adams should still deliver in this offense. We have seen what Nacua and Cooper Kupp have done with Stafford over the years, and with Kupp out of the picture, it will be Nacua and Adams sharing the wealth in 2025. There are plenty of targets to go around in this offense, as the Rams ranked in a tie for the 11th most pass attempts per game last season (33.2).
Adams should fit right into the Cooper Kupp role, and both players are similar in certain aspects of their game, most notably being known as some of the best route runners in football. Kupp only played in 12 games last season, but still managed to put up 710 yards and six touchdown grabs.
If Adams can stay healthy this season, I would expect another 1,000-yard season in this potent Rams passing attack.
