Following Scottie Scheffler’s impressive four-shot win at The Open Championship, the PGA TOUR season continues this week with the 3M Open, which will be played at TPC Twin Cities (par 71, 7,431 yards, bentgrass greens). This venue has hosted every 3M Open since this tournament’s inception in 2019 and Jhonattan Vegas (-17) is the defending champion of the 3M Open. This field consists of 156 golfers and there will be a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
TPC Twin Cities is a long Arnold Palmer design that presents wide fairways, large greens, 72 bunkers and water in play on 15 of 18 holes. This course has a whopping 27 water hazards on the grounds and TPC Twin Cities annually sees the most water balls of any PGA TOUR venue. With TPC Twin Cities being a longer par 71 that features thin rough, strong drivers of the golf ball have an advantage at this track, with two of the last three 3M Open winners ranking top-10 in SG OTT during their victories.
More importantly, being in great form with both your irons and putter is essential for success at TPC Twin Cities. Three of the last five winners at this venue have finished the event top-eight in both SG APP and SGP, including Vegas a year ago. TPC Twin Cities is a traditional par 71 with 11 par fours, four par threes and three par fives. As always with this type of course, scoring on the par fours is most crucial at TPC Twin Cities, as four of the last five victors at this venue have finished tournament top-three in par four efficiency.

Top DraftKings PGA TOUR DFS Bargain Plays for the 3M Open
Jhonattan Vegas ($7,400) – Not only did Vegas win the 3M Open last season, he finished runner-up in his previous attempt at TPC Twin Cities in 2021. Vegas has rounds of 63 and 64 at this par 71, and among the players in this field that have competed at TPC Twin Cities more than once, the 40-year-old ranks first in strokes gained per round at the Palmer design.
As for his current form, Vegas has advanced to the weekend in seven of his last eight starts and three of these made cuts came at major championships, most notably with a T5 at the PGA Championship in May, which is the best major finish of Vegas’ career. The Venezuelan has gained strokes on approach at four straight events and Vegas is a fantastic value play in his title defense at the 3M Open this week.
Alex Noren ($7,400) – Noren has missed back-to-back cuts, but a trip to TPC Twin Cities is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Swede. In his two starts at this venue, Noren has finished T3rd and T13th, and he ranks third in strokes gained per round at TPC Twin Cities among the players in this field that have competed at this course more than once.
Noren has made 4-of-7 cuts with two top-30 finishes this season – including a T17 at the PGA Championship – and he carries +7000 odds to win the 3M Open on DraftKings Sportsbook, which are excellent relative to his low DFS salary. Noren may get slept on, given he has missed his last two cuts and he is a sharp play for GPPs this week.
Kevin Roy ($7,300) – Roy missed the cut in his lone attempt at TPC Twin Cities two years ago, but the 35-year-old is a totally different class of player this time around. After being the 412th ranked player in the world heading into his 3M debut in 2023, Roy is now sits at 125th, thanks to some excellent form. The veteran has only missed one cut in his last eight starts and during this stretch, he has produced four top-20 finishes, including a T3 at the John Deere Classic earlier this month.
Roy has gained strokes on approach in five of his last six starts and he ranks fifth in par four performance this season, making him a terrific match for TPC Twin Cities. Roy has top-20 upside in this weak field and he is an elite value at only $7,300.
Doug Ghim ($7,300) – Ghim has made 4-of-5 cuts at TPC Twin Cities and all four of these finishes have been results of T27 or better. The 29-year-old is gaining a strong 1.37 strokes per round at the par 71 and he shot an 8-under 63 at TPC Twin Cities two years ago, which is one stroke shy of Ghim’s career-low on the PGA TOUR.
It’s safe to say TPC Twin Cities is one of Ghim’s favorite venues on the PGA TOUR and he returns to the course this week as the maker of six of his last eight cuts, two of which have been top-30 finishes. Ghim ranks 18th in SG APP this season and he is a great target for all formats at this cheap price tag.
