It seems like the Giants are just finding ways to lose as much as the Jays are finding ways to win.
Toronto has stormed forward to claim the top spot in the AL East. With its strong defense and elite bat-to-ball skills up and down the lineup, the Blue Jays are fundamental-ing teams to death. That’s been the case in the first two games of the series. Through two games, the Giants have struck out 21 times while recording 14 hits and three runs. Toronto’s batters have struck out five times while racking up 24 hits and 10 runs. No Giant has drawn a walk; Toronto has four. The gap in discipline and lineup consistency is vast.
It’s a tough task for Robbie Ray to shut down this Blue Jays lineup. His swing-and-miss stuff doesn’t play well against his former team. And with the way they’re hitting, putting up four runs on SF ace Logan Webb on Saturday, it could be dire.
Jays starter José Berríos won’t need much help. Right now, the Giants can’t buy a big inning, or any sort of consistent offense. Until they find a way to play cohesively, Berríos will move batter to batter inducing plenty of swings and misses. That leaves the Giants at a huge disadvantage.

For starters, I’ll be playing the under at eight runs. Robbie Ray may not be his usual excellent self, but it’s rare to see him get touched up. And this Giants offense refuses to string anything together. With two strong bullpens to back up these starters, we may have another low-scoring game on our hands.
I’m also going to ride with the Blue Jays in this contest. They’re the better team, and are acting like it. The Giants can’t seem to get out of their own way with defensive and base running mistakes.
