An exciting Featherweight bout between Dan Ige and Patricio “Pitbull” Freire is the second fight on the UFC 318 Main Card. The former two-division Bellator Champion lost his UFC debut fight against Yair Rodriguez at UFC 314 in April. Ige knocked out Sean Woodson on that same card.
Here is my best bet for Ige vs. Pitbull at UFC 318.
Patricio Pitbull Moneyline (+185)
Pitbull had a bad performance in his UFC debut, landing only 23 significant strikes in the contest. But it was a tough matchup against a much taller fighter in Rodriguez. Now, Pitbull faces Ige, who is still talented but represents a slight step down in competition.
Ige is ranked No. 11 in the 145-pound division, and if Pitbull wants to realize his dream of becoming a UFC champion in the future, a victory is needed at UFC 318. Regardless of how they have looked recently, Pitbull is a flat-out better fighter in all facets. Pitbull is 36-8 with 13 knockouts and 11 submissions in his career and is a threat to finish the fight on the feet or the ground.
In this fight, Pitbull is still the shorter fighter, but only by one inch in this matchup. In his previous fight, Pitbull began slowly, which forced him to fight from behind for the rest of the contest. He must be aggressive and push the pace, forcing Ige to move backwards. Even at 38 years old, Pitbull is still in excellent condition and moves very well. Getting the former Bellator king at +185 on DraftKings Sportsbook seems too good to be true.
