Alec Bohm injury update: Why isn’t Phillies’ third baseman in Saturday’s lineup?

The Philadelphia Phillies take on the Los Angeles Angels in the second leg of a three-game series on Saturday. However, they’ll do so without one of their top hitters in the lineup.

Third baseman Alec Bohm is slated to sit out Saturday’s contest after reaggravating ribcage-related bruising.

Bohm is in the midst of another solid season for the Phillies, slashing .278/.324/.391 with 42 RBI and eight home runs. The 28-year-old has become an important piece of Philadelphia’s success over the last few seasons and plays a key role on the hot corner.

Otto Kemp takes over at third base today against the Angels with a .247 AVG in 89 at-bats this year.
