After the second round of The Open Championship, Scottie Scheffler ($14,200; 80.5 FPTS) has grabbed the lead heading into the weekend. He turned in the lowest round of the day with a 64 to climb to -10 for the tournament.
Scheffler started the day with a birdie and posted four birdies and no bogeys on the front nine. On the second nine, he dropped four more birdies along with a bogey to secure his one-stroke lead. Scheffler is in 25.8% of entries in the PGA $2.75M FANTASY GOLF MILLIONAIRE [$1M TO 1ST], the third-most of any player in the tournament.
Alone in second place, Matt Fitzpatrick ($7,800; 72 FPTS) had the lead for most of the day on Friday before Scottie moved past him with a late birdie run. Fitz finished with four straight pars after a bogey on hole No. 14, but he had racked up four straight birdies to open the back nine, and starts the weekend in great position.
Scheffler is the betting favorite on DraftKings Sporstbook at The Open Championship at -175. Fitzpatrick is at +550 even though he’s only one stroke back.
In third place, Haotong Li ($5,700; 60.5 FPTS) and Brian Harman ($7,000; 63.5 FPTS) sit at -8 for the tournament, two strokes behind Scheffler. Harman had an early bogey-free 65 with six birdies and climbed from T10 to T3 and is +1200 with the third-shortest odds on the board.
In fifth place, there’s a large group of players five strokes behind Scheffler, with Rasmus Hojgaard, Tyrrell Hatton, Robert MacIntyre, Harris English and last week’s winner Chris Gotterup.
The cut line fell at +1 with 70 players qualifying for the weekend.
Some of the biggest names to miss the cut were Jason Day (owned in 6.49% of Millionaire entries), Joaquin Niemann (6.95%), Patrick Cantlay (8.2%), Brooks Koepka (3.9%) and Collin Morikawa (13.04%).
