Full Card for UFC 318: Holloway vs. Poirier 3

One of the greatest fighters of all time, Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier, will make the final walk in his UFC career on Saturday night at UFC 318 against storied rival Max “Blessed” Holloway to complete the trilogy.

Even though Poirier is fighting for the final time at UFC 318, he still has a lot left in the tank. Poirier’s last fight was against former champion Islam Makhachev in June 2024. He lost that fight via submission but still put up a valiant effort. Before that, Poirier knocked out Benoit Saint Denis and is 5-3 in his previous eight fights. Poirier has had one of the toughest schedules in history, with his last four losses coming against legends. In the previous six years, Poirier has only lost to Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Charles Oliveira, and Justin Gaethje.

Poirier remained confident in his decision to retire after UFC 318 at media day. “I think it’s the right time. I want to walk away, I don’t want it to retire me.”

This is the third chapter between Poirier and Holloway. Their first matchup was at UFC 143 in 2012, with Poirier picking up the victory via submission. Seven years later, Poirier and Holloway fought at UFC 236 in April 2019, this time in a lightweight bout. Poirier came out on top once again, beating Holloway for a second time. Now, the two legends will face off in the Main Event of UFC 318. Although Poirier is up 2-0 in this rivalry, Holloway is the A-side because he is defending his BMF title.

Holloway is a -135 favorite with Poirier being a +114 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. Since they last fought, Holloway is 6-4 and has won three of his previous four bouts. Poirier is 5-4 in that same period. Holloway is the younger fighter by three years, at 33, while Poirier is 36 years old. This is the fourth BMF title fight in UFC history and the third in the lightweight division. Holloway is 1-0 in BMF title fights as Poirier is 0-1.

Both fighters are iconic competitors in UFC history, but both are coming off a loss via finish in their last fight. Ilia Topuria knocked out Holloway in October 2024, but he won his last contest at 155 pounds. Holloway brutally finished Gaethje at UFC 300 in one of the most incredible knockouts of all time. This is a picture-perfect ending to a Hall of Fame career for “The Diamond”. Poirier and Holloway are both 22-8 in the UFC. Holloway, being his final opponent, is fitting since Poirier welcomed him to the UFC in 2012.

Former title challenger, No. 13 Paulo Costa, is back to face fellow Middleweight contender No. 14 Roman Kopylov in the co-main event. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Kopylov is the favorite in this matchup at -230, with Costa being +190. Costa has lost four of five bouts, while Kopylov is riding a two-fight win streak.

The always exciting and entertaining Kevin Holland returns for the fourth time in 2025, facing veteran Daniel Rodriguez. Holland fought five times in 2020 and has a chance to surpass that total this year. Rodriguez and Holland both have won two straight fights. Regardless of winning streaks, Holland is a massive -575 favorite, as Rodriguez is a +425 underdog.
