San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers prediction, pick for Friday 7/11/25

Tonight’s showdown shoves 2,330 games of grudge into one electric clash at Oracle Park. San Francisco’s 27-18 home mark this season underscores their dominance behind Webb’s lock-down arsenal. Los Angeles counters with May’s heavy arsenal and desperate urgency to snap a six-game skid. This divisional battleground means far more than standings—it’s pride, revenge, and momentum on the line. Below, I’ve got my preview, prediction, and best bet for this Friday night baseball game between the Giants and the Dodgers.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Giants vs. Dodgers prediction, preview

The Giants lean on Webb’s 2.62 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, the eighth-lowest ERA among qualifying hurlers. His 27.2 percent strikeout rate lives in baseball’s 85th percentile. Webb induces ground balls at a 52.8 percent clip, limiting hard contact. He’s surrendered just 0.52 homers per nine innings, the stingiest rate in baseball. Webb has delivered nine quality starts in 19 outings, including a 1.52 ERA at Oracle Park. His first-pitch strike rate of 61 percent commands at-bats from the jump.

San Francisco’s defense amplifies every Webb offering, converting 69.7 percent of balls in play into outs, fifth-best efficiency this season. That elite support silences opponents’ rallies and magnifies Webb’s margin for error.

Dustin May counterpunches with a 4.52 ERA and 1.32 WHIP, undercut by a 9.3 percent walk rate. His 1.30 homers per nine rank third-worst among NL starters. May’s 44.7 percent groundball rate invites too many fly balls in a cavernous park. His 21.8 percent strikeout rate lags league average, leaving meatballs over the plate. In seven road starts, May’s ERA balloons to 6.27. He’s failed to complete six innings in four of those outings, exposing a fatigued bullpen.

The Dodgers’ bats entered Thursday’s workout ice cold, hitting .194 over their last seven games with a bullpen stinging at 7.44 ERA. That .207 team average and 4.80 staff ERA across the last ten games rank among baseball’s bottom five. Shohei Ohtani ranks in baseball’s 95th percentile in hard-hit rate (54.7 percent) and posts a 162 wRC+ this season. Their normally potent lineup mustered just 1.67 runs per game during a six-game skid.

Dodgers vs. Giants pick, best bet

Counterarguments perch on LA’s league-leading 142 home runs and .448 slugging percentage. Yet that power has evaporated on the road, where their 3-6 mark versus sub-1.25 WHIP opponents cost bettors 3.9 units. Oracle Park suppresses left-field power by 12 percent. That environment kills solo shots unless Getaway Day bullpens crack.

San Francisco’s offense finds life in contact. The Giants rank 20th in walk rate but grind out timely hits. Rafael Devers owns a .412 wOBA and 129 wRC+ against right-handers this season, barreling pitches at a 12.3 percent clip. Wilmer Flores barrels 14.3 percent of zone pitches this month, producing a .381 slugging percentage. Jung Hoo Lee sports a .394 slugging mark and 82 hits overall. Heliot Ramos slashes .269 with 14 long balls and 47 RBIs. That quartet drives San Francisco’s 4.1 runs per game at home.

Head-to-head trends surge in the Giants’ favor. San Francisco is 24-10 at Oracle Park against right-handed starters this season, returning close to 10 units on average across books. Dodgers slide to 3-6 on the road versus elite NL arms.

Tonight’s weather forecasts low 60s with inland breeze blowing in, further suppressing fly-ball carry. Pitchers gain the edge under these conditions.

This slate boils down to Webb’s mastery, May’s oblique peripherals, and a park negating Dodgers’ power. Advanced metrics align behind the hometown nine. I’m locking in the San Francisco Giants ML.

Best bet: Giants (-130) vs. Dodgers
