The #1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft made his Summer League debut on Thursday against Bronny James and the Lakers.
It was an underwhelming start for Cooper Flagg shooting the ball, as he finished with 10 points in 31 minutes while shooting 5-of-21 from the field. The three-point shot wasn’t there all night, as he missed all five of his attempts. Flagg also added six rebounds and four assists.
Flagg’s first NBA points came on a breakaway, and he did it in fashion with this dunk.
Flagg scored another first quarter bucket with this midrange effort.
The first quarter was by far his best, as he then found space in transition to get the layup and the foul for the and-one.
He then almost lit the internet on fire, coming this close to a POSTERIZER on Christian Koloko.
Flagg hit his second midrange jumper in the second quarter, getting his total to eight points at the time.
Flagg ended the half with 10 points, going 5-of-15 from the field. The second half was a welcome to the NBA moment for the young rookie, as he was held scoreless while missing all six of his field goal attempts. It was a struggle for Flagg in his first Summer League game, but I wouldn’t look into one performance too much. He showed flashes of what he can be in this league in the first quarter.
