When will Matt Chapman return to the Giants lineup?

On June 8th, Matt Chapman injured his hand while diving back on a pickoff attempt. He was initially placed on the 10-day injured list then missed the rest of the month. Chapman has been taking batting practice and will play a rehab game with the River Cats in Reno on Friday. Chapman is expected to return to the Giants lineup on Saturday.

The Giants offense scuffled in June, so Chapman’s return will inject some much needed offensive juice.

In 272 plate appearances, Chapman hit 12 home runs, scored 35 runs, drove in 30 and stole seven bases. The walk rate was 14.7%, strikeout rate was 23.9% and ISO was .209.
