The 2025 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest will air live on ESPN2 today at 12 p.m. ET. The legend and 16-time winner of this competition, Joey Chestnut, is returning to the event after not competing in it last year. Chestnut was banned the previous year due to a conflicting sponsorship from Impossible Foods. He beat Takeru Kobayashi in a special event, “Unfinished Beef,” on Netflix in September 2024.
Chestnut debuted in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in 2005 and has won the last eight times he has competed in this event. He has two eight-year win streaks (2007-2014 and 2016-2023). Unsurprisingly, Joey Chestnut is a massive -2000 favorite to win today’s contest on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Patrick Bertoletti has the best odds at +155 to be the men’s outright winner without Joey Chestnut. Bertoletti won this event in 2024 after eating 58 hot dogs in 10 minutes. He has five top-three finishes in eight appearances in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.
The record in this contest is 76, and if you think it will be broken this year, you can get that at +215. Chestnut’s over/under is set at 71.5. The over for Chestnut is -125 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
