Eovaldi has only made 13 starts so far this season, so he isn’t qualified to be ranked among the players with the best ERA. But if eligible, he would place second behind only Hunter Brown (1.74). Eovaldi did allow three runs in his previous start on June 27 against the Seattle Mariners, but that was the first time he had allowed three runs since April 19. In his career against Baltimore, Eovaldi is 8-3 with a 3.59 ERA during 19 starts.
Marcus Semien has been on fire in the last week, recording 11 hits while batting .407. If the Rangers can get another good outing out of Eovaldi, they should be able to win this series against the Orioles. This is Texas’s last game at home until July 18, as they will start a 10-game road trip on Friday.
