On Tuesday’s loaded MLB slate, few prop bets are more exciting than an NRFI. Just six outs without a score are all it takes for bettors to cash in. However, figuring out which pitchers thrive early, and which lineups struggle, is key. 15 games between 30 teams are on tap today, making this the perfect time to place some NRFI wagers.
Ahead of tonight’s MLB action, here are three NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Brewers at Mets NRFI (-125)
Both the Brewers and Mets find themselves in the thick of the National League playoff race. However, New York suffered a brutal month of June, while Milwaukee surged. Tonight, the Amazin’s will send out Clay Holmes, arguably the team’s most consistent pitcher this season. The former closer-turned-starter has thrived in his new role, posting a 2.97 ERA and 1.24 WHIP through 88.0 outings. In the first inning, he’s allowed just three earned runs (1.69 ERA).
On the other side, Freddy Peralta is set to toe the slab. It’s been another terrific year for Milwaukee’s ace, one of the game’s most underrated hurlers. During 17 appearances in 2025, the Dominican owns a 2.90 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 98 strikeouts. It helps that Peralta will get to face a lineup that looks out of sorts at the plate. Over their last 15 contests, the Mets are only averaging 2.93 runs per game. It’s difficult to envision a breakthrough tonight against an All-Star arm.
Orioles at Rangers NRFI (-140)
Let’s begin with the good news about this Orioles-Rangers NRFI: Jacob deGrom is pitching. After several injury-plagued seasons in Texas, the two-time Cy Young winner has bounced back in a major way. Through 95.1 innings of work, the right-hander has recorded a 2.08 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 94 strikeouts. Most recently, he tossed seven frames of scoreless ball against none other than Baltimore, allowing just one hit. To make things more enticing, the O’s have notched the sport’s seventh-highest NRFI rate this season (75.0%).
To counter DeGrom, the Orioles will hand the ball to rookie Brandon Young, recently recalled from Triple-A Norfolk. In his 12.2 innings as a pro, the righty left much to be desired (7.11 ERA, 1.98 WHIP). However, he’ll get to face a lackluster Rangers offense putting up 3.69 runs per game, the league’s fifth-worst mark. In addition, Texas has accounted for an NRFI rate of 75.29%, sixth-highest in baseball. Assuming deGrom keeps things scoreless, I’ll take my chances with Young to get three outs.
Guardians at Cubs NRFI (-115)
It’s been a brutal stretch for the Guardians, who now find themselves below .500 at 40-42. Cleveland will face a difficult task tonight on the road against the Cubs, who currently lead the NL Central. Still, the visitors have reason for optimism with Gavin Williams on the mound. This season, the 25-year-old has posted a 3.68 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 80.2 appearances. Williams has been solid to open up games, surrendering just six first inning runs (3.38 ERA).
Chicago’s lineup has been the biggest factor in the team’s terrific first half. Finding contributors on the mound has been a more difficult challenge for the North Siders. Fortunately for the Cubs, Matthew Boyd has stepped up. The veteran is putting together the best campaign of his 11-year career. Over 16 starts, he’s delivered a 2.65 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 82 strikeouts. Now, Boyd will get to face his old team, the Guardians. Cleveland has baseball’s second-highest NRFI rate (78.05%); there’s a good chance the team struggles tonight at Wrigley Field.
