WNBA Best Bets Today: Top Picks for Sunday 6/29/25

On tap for Sunday is a five-game slate of WNBA action. Below, I have featured two of my favorite bets for Sunday’s WNBA action on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Phoenix Mercury -6

The Mercury are red-hot right now and backing the team to cover this six-point spread vs. the Aces is smart. Phoenix has won six games in a row and the club is 12-4 this season. Satou Sabally has been excellent for Phoenix this season, averaging a career-high 19.6 PPG. The Mercury are hosting the Aces on Sunday and when these two clubs met for the first time this season two weeks ago, Phoenix defeated Las Vegas 76-70.

That matchup took place in Las Vegas, but this Sunday’s matchup will be in Phoenix, where the Mercury are 7-2 this season. Conversely, the Aces have struggled when competing away from Sin City, with a 2-4 record on the road, and Las Vegas has lost four of its last six games entering Sunday. The Mercury have won three of their last four home games by at least nine points and Phoenix is 10-6 ATS this season.

Los Angeles Sparks -8.5

The Sparks are hosting the Sky on Sunday and while Chicago just upset Los Angeles 97-86 this past Tuesday, it’s safe to expect a much different result in Sunday’s rematch. The main reason for the Sky’s win over the Sparks this past Tuesday was the efforts of Kamilla Cardoso, who posted 27 points, seven rebounds and three assists. However, Cardoso won’t be available for Chicago on Sunday, as she is away from the team competing for Brazil in the AmeriCup.

Cardoso is the Sky’s second-leading scorer this season and she has also made a huge impact on the defensive end. This season, Chicago’s defensive rating has dropped 4.8 points to 114.7 with Cardoso off the floor. With her inactive the last two seasons, Chicago is 3-6. Overall, the Sky are 4-11 this season and the team ranks 12th in net rating. The Sparks have only been slightly better, ranking 11th in net rating with a 5-11 record, but the club is coming off a 10-point road win over the Fever in which both Kelsey Plum and Azura Stevens topped 20 points. This Cardoso-less Sky defense should struggle to slow down the pairing of Plum and Stevens, and Los Angeles is a strong bet to cover this 8.5-point spread.
