While it’s been a rough stretch for the Liberty, it’s not time to panic. The team is built to win another championship, and a rough regular season patch won’t change that. That being said, New York does need to start winning games against the top teams in the league.
It already has a victory against the Dream in this recent stretch, so New York fans should have some hope heading into the second matchup. The Liberty won 86-81 with Sabrina Ionescu scoring 34 points on June 17.
The Dream didn’t play a bad game and even out-shot the Liberty from three, but the free-throw disparity played a role in the loss. Atlanta enters this game on a two-game losing streak and has lost three of its last five games.
Still, the Dream remain one of the best teams in the WNBA and pose a threat to the Liberty in the second matchup.
