Jake Paul faces former Middleweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET. For the second straight fight, Paul will face a former champion. This is Paul’s sixth fight in the last 22 months.

Jake Paul Less Than 101.5 Total Punches Landed
It was a bit surprising to see Paul’s total punches at 101.5 since he hasn’t hit that mark in his previous four contests. Paul landed 78 punches against Mike Tyson in November 2024 and 96 punches against Mike Perry before that.
Since Paul is an elite power puncher, it is likely he will not need to land over 100 punches to beat Chavez Jr. tonight. Paul has won five straight fights with three knockouts. After a unanimous decision victory against Tyson, Paul knows a finish is needed to impress the boxing community once again.
All seven of Paul’s knockouts have come within the first six rounds, and although Chavez could give him a tougher test than Tyson, Paul should prevail with his power advantage.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Less Than 74.5 Total Punches Landed
Chavez Jr is on a two-fight win streak, but most recently defeated former UFC fighter Uriah Hall last July. In that six-round bout, Chavez finished with 68 total punches. Even though this is a 10-round bout, it is hard to back the former champion since he hasn’t gone 10 rounds since December 2021.
Chavez is stepping in the ring with one of the most active fighters in the sport, which shouldn’t translate to a ton of success for him. Paul is also good on defense and doesn’t get hit a ton, as his last two opponents landed punches at a 27 percent or less rate.
