UPDATE: X-rays have come back negative for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on Thursday. His next opportunity to play will be Friday at Fenway Park.
We have a little zesty action this afternoon in Cleveland.
After getting hit in the forearm by a Tanner Bibee sinker earlier in the afternoon, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been removed prior to the fourth inning. Immediately following Guerrero’s substitution, Kevin Gausman responded by nailing Jose Ramirez with a fastball to begin the bottom half of the frame.
If Guerrero is forced to miss any extended time, it would be a crushing blow for the Blue Jays, who currently sit in an American League Wild Card spot. Vladdy hasn’t been phenomenal in 2025 by his own lofty standards, yet the $500 million man did come into Thursday in possession of a 100th percentile expected batting average (.327) and a 98th percentile expected wOBA (.418). You know, a normal middle-of-the-road campaign.
Toronto is only a couple games back in the AL East and it currently has +600 odds to win the division on DraftKings Sportsbook.
