Just one game is on tap tonight across Major League Baseball: Braves vs. Mets. Despite a lackluster 37-42 record, Atlanta has taken five of its six meetings with New York this season. However, it was the Mets that came out on top last night with a 7-3 win. Which of these two NL East rivals will be victorious on Thursday?

Juan Soto 2+ bases (+125)
Even when Juan Soto looks ‘off’ at the plate, he’s still a threat. As one of the sport’s greatest hitters, the superstar is never someone to take lightly. That’s especially true in June, as New York’s prized offseason pickup is beginning to look like his old self. Over his last 20 games, Soto is slashing .333/.494/.727 with eight home runs and 15 RBIs.
Soto’s hot streak includes plenty of success against the Braves, who the Mets have faced six times this month. In those contests, the Dominican has recorded at least two total bases on three different occasions. In June, the four-time All-Star has reached the two-bag mark in over half of his appearances. Expect that trend to continue tonight against a decent, albeit not great, starter in Grant Holmes.
Grant Holmes over 16.5 outs recorded (-120)
Speaking of Holmes, he can deliver a much-needed series victory for Atlanta tonight. The right-hander will be making his 17th outing of the season for the Braves on Thursday. During that time, he’s posted a 3.71 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 97 strikeouts. The 29-year-old has allowed more than three runs in only 18.8% of his outings. In Holmes’ only career appearance vs. the Mets last season, he managed to toss four scoreless innings.
Despite his background as a reliever/swingman, Holmes has shown an ability to go deep into games. The second-year pro has gone at least 5.2 innings in ten of his previous 13 starts. He’ll get to face a lineup that has struggled recently. Since June 10th, the Mets have scored the seventh-fewest runs in baseball (55). While New York did put up seven runs on Wednesday, most of those came against rookie Didier Fuentes. A more proven arm in Holmes could come close to six frames tonight.
