Real Madrid are obviously huge favorites for this one, and they will need no more motivation to win than the reward of finishing top of their group. However, the odds for them to win are not great, so I decided to go in a different direction.
I will be taking their under on corner kicks, listed at 6.5. A lot of corners doesn’t equal winning, as proven in their last game against Pachuca as they finished as 3-1 winners with only two corner kicks. In their opening match of the tournament against Al Hilal, the Spanish side finished with five corners.
They have gone under this total in each of their first two games, and I expect them to do the same in this one. In last season’s LA Liga, Madrid averaged 6.39 corners per game, just under this total. At -145 odds, this feels like great value for this trend to continue.
