MLB Picks: Player Props and Team Props for Wednesday, June 25, 2025

Texas Rangers over 4.5 runs -115 vs. Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles will start rookie Brandon Young, making his third MLB appearance. In his first two starts, he struggled, allowing six runs on 11 hits with eight walks over 8.2 innings, resulting in a 6.23 ERA, a 5.33 xERA, and a 5.27 FIP. His high walk rate—averaging nearly one per inning—is concerning, especially since he showed strong control in the minors. The Rangers, like the Reds and Tigers (who rank 13th and 17th in walk percentage and faced Young prior), are not particularly patient at the plate. Yet Young has already allowed eight walks. However, once Young exits, the Orioles’ bullpen, which posted a 4.94 ERA and 4.6 walks per nine innings over 27.1 innings last week, could struggle. The Rangers are likely to have ample base runners.

Brandon Lowe 2+ total bases +110 vs. Kansas City Royals

Lowe is averaging two total bases per game, delivering a strong 2025 season. Of his 64 hits against right-handed pitchers, 23 have been extra-base hits, including 10 doubles and 13 home runs. Tonight, he faces Michael Wacha and the Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Wacha’s flyball rate this season, at 43.7% through 15 starts, is the highest of his career, slightly above his previous high of 43%. Lowe has excelled against Wacha’s primary pitches—the changeup and four-seam fastball. Against right-handers’ four-seamers, Lowe has a .490 wOBA and .347 ISO, and against their changeups, he has a .412 wOBA and .281 ISO, positioning him for success.

George Kirby under 5.5 strikeouts -110 vs. Minnesota Twins

George Kirby is averaging over a strikeout per inning, with a 9.6 K/9 through six starts and 30.2 innings. However, this figure is inflated by one outlier: a 14-strikeout performance over seven innings against the Angels on June 8. Excluding that game, his K/9 drops to 7.3 across his other five starts. Notably, Kirby has recorded fewer than 5.5 strikeouts in five of his six starts. Tonight, he faces a Twins lineup that rarely strikes out, with a combined 21% strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers. I think Kirby goes under the 5.5 total once again in a tougher-than-expected matchup against the Twins.

Good luck with these MLB picks tonight!
