We’re halfway through the week already, so kick back and relax tonight with some fantasy baseball action this evening. There’s an eight MLB games to choose from on DraftKings’ main DFS slate tonight, so while options are a little slimmer than usual, we’ve still got you covered.
As you build your lineups on Wednesday, here are three must-start MLB DFS picks for the virtual diamond.

SP Yoshinobu Yamamoto, LA Dodgers @ COL Rockies; $8,800
There are a handful of stud pitchers on today’s slate with Zack Wheeler ($10,300), Logan Webb ($10,000), Max Fried ($9,500) and Joe Ryan ($9,000) all available. As it turns out, we’re avoiding all four of those guys.
Why the bold move? Yoshinobu Yamamoto ($8,800) is right there at the cusp of elite per-game production with 19.7 FPPG. While the Japanese righty has struggled some in two of his last six starts, he also tallied at least 24.5 points in three of those and has a very high ceiling. Tonight, he faces a Rockies lineup lacking many real threats, making this outing a perfect get-right spot. With a 2.76 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 95 strikeouts across his 15 starts, Yamamoto should get the better of Colorado this evening and offers strong upside at a more affordable price than other top stars.
OF Ronald Acuna Jr., ATL Braves @ NY Mets; $6,600
I’m running out of ways to describe Ronald Acuna Jr. ($6,600) and how great his fantasy production looks. He averages 12.2 FPPG and his salary already rose $200 since Monday, but it feels flat-out wrong to exclude him from lineups.
Acuna slashes .385/.496/.692 in his 104 at-bats this season with five extra-base hits, 31 runs, 16 RBIs and nine home runs while stealing four bases. The guy keeps playing at an unreal level, and as long as this production continues, he needs to be in lineups as an elite cornerstone piece. The matchup with the Mets doesn’t bring a ton of extra appeal but he averages 14.5 FPPG across his last 10 games. Slot him in accordingly.
C Will Smith, LA Dodgers @ COL Rockies; $5,900
I wrote about Dodgers catcher Will Smith ($5,900) yesterday and he tallied eight points with a 2-for-5 performance and one run. I’m taking him for tonight’s lineups once more thanks to a combo of matchup and positional scarcity.
Catchers typically don’t rank among the top hitters in the MLB, but Smith certainly does with a career-best .330/.425/.541 slash line, 39 runs, and 42 RBIs. He’s not a powerful bat like Cal Raleigh ($6,500), but Smith’s salary remains $600 cheaper than the Mariners slugger and brings plenty of upside over the rest of the catchers on the slate, especially in a matchup against Chase Dollander ($5,000) at hitter-friendly Coors Field. I’d love to have a part of the Dodgers offense tonight, so Smith looks like a great pick.
