MLB Picks: Player Props and Team Props for Tuesday, June 24, 2025
Detroit Tigers over 4.5 runs -115 vs. Athletics
After a strong start to the season, Luis Severino has struggled recently. Through 24 innings in June, he has posted a 6.00 ERA, a .368 wOBA, and a 4.82 FIP. His strikeout rate has been low, with only 4.5 K/9. Tonight, he faces a Tigers team stacked with left-handed hitters, a significant weakness for him, as lefties have recorded a .336 wOBA and a 4.16 FIP against him. Once Severino exits, the bullpen, which has a 6.46 ERA, a 5.69 FIP, and a 1.9 HR/9 over the past week, will take over. The Tigers’ offense has been potent, averaging 6.6 runs per game over the past week.
Jackson Chourio 2+ total bases -110 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Through 78 games this season, Jackson Chourio has averaged two total bases per game. Tonight, he aims to reach that mark again against Andrew Heaney and the Pirates. Chourio has excelled against left-handed pitching, posting a .415 wOBA, a .250 ISO, and a 167 wRC+ this season. Against Heaney’s primary pitch, the four-seam fastball, Chourio has a .552 wOBA and a .344 ISO. Batting leadoff, he will have multiple opportunities to surpass two total bases.
Frankie Montas under 14.5 outs recorded +110
Frankie Montas makes his 2025 debut tonight against the Braves after a lat injury placed him on the 60-day injured list. His recent minor league performance was concerning, with six starts yielding 25 earned runs on 30 hits, including eight home runs, and only 12 strikeouts over 18.2 innings. I cannot believe how poorly he pitched, especially when you consider two of these starts came at A ball. Given these struggles, it seems unlikely that Montas will pitch five innings in his return.
