MLB Best Bets Today: Baseball Picks, Predictions for Tuesday 6/24/25

15 baseball games are on tap for this evening, which means you have thousands of MLB bets to choose from on the DraftKings Sportsbook. I’m a company man, but that does seems like a lot, right?

In a effort to narrow things down, here are my top two picks on the diamond for Tuesday night.

Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles

Under 9 (+106)

The actual game total tonight in Baltimore is 9.5, but let’s adjust it down to a flat nine runs to get this bet at plus-money. Honestly, you could even drop it to 8.5 and I’d feel alright with it. On paper, I can understand that a matchup between Charlie Morton and Jacob Latz doesn’t seem all that impressive, yet I’m very confident that this will be a low-scoring affair.

Let’s begin with Morton, who has been a completely different pitcher since a mid-season demotion to the bullpen. Morton’s made eight appearances since May 10 — five of them starts — and he’s in possession of a 2.29 ERA and a 2.31 FIP in that stretch. He’s also rocking an eye-popping 31.3% strikeout rate in this 35.1-inning span. Texas’ lineup has been better in June than in a disastrous month of May, but Morton should have the tools to keep this offense at bay.

As for Latz, the converted reliever is only in the Rangers’ rotation due to injury, but he didn’t look overwhelmed last Thursday in his first start of the season against the Royals. Latz threw 82 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing just a single earned run. It’s the continuation of what’s been a strong campaign for the lefty, as Latz owns a 3.26 ERA and a 3.61 xERA in his 30.1 total innings. More importantly, his handedness should play extremely well in a matchup with the Orioles. Baltimore has struggled a great deal with southpaws in 2025, evidenced most notably by the team’s .088 ISO within the split — the lowest mark in MLB.

Atlanta Braves at New York Mets

Braves -1.5 (+113)

This is the story of two pitchers working their way back from long-term injuries to very different results.

On one side, we have Spencer Strider, who isn’t all the way back to his jaw-dropping form from 2023, but it’s getting closer with each trip to the mound. Strider has allowed just a single earned run over his last two starts combined, a span of 12.0 innings of work where the 26-year-old has struck out 21 and walked only two. Most importantly, Strider’s average fastball velocity has been above 96.0 mph in both of these outings, which first two occasions that’s happened in 2025. Coincidence? I think not.

Then there’s Frankie Montas. Aside from never being anywhere close to Strider’s peak when both were healthy, Montas has had a nightmarish rehab assignment in Triple-A. Like, whatever you’re thinking, it’s been worse. In 14.1 innings, Montas has struck out as many opponents (8) as he’d allowed home runs (8). That’s translated into an ugly 13.19 ERA and 11.37 FIP. It’s obviously a small sample, but I assure you, Montas is making his 2025 MLB debut this evening because his rehab clock ran out, not because his performance has dictated it. The Braves should put up some crooked numbers with ease.
