The PGA TOUR heads to Detroit, Michigan, this week for Rocket Classic. Detroit Golf Club will be the host course and measures as a 7,370-yard par 72 with a mix of Bentgrass/Poa Annua greens.
We are back to a standard 156-man tournament this week with a 36-hole cut. Despite it not being a Signature Event, we have a pretty star-studded field, led at the top by Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, Hideki Matsuyama and last week’s Travelers Championship winner, Keegan Bradley.
Below, I have outlined three of my favorite DraftKings plays for the week.

Ben Griffin ($9,800)
Griffin has turned himself into one of the best golfers in the world this season—a statement I didn’t expect to be making as we approach July. He’s climbed to No. 17 in the OGWR and has posted seven top-10 finishes in 20 starts in 2025. The run he’s currently on is rivaled only by Scottie Scheffler, with finishes of T14, T10, second, first, and T8 over his last five starts.
Over his past 24 rounds (dating back to the Truist Championship in early May), Griffin ranks fourth in this field in SG: Ball-Striking, third in SG: Tee-to-Green, third in SG: Putting, and No. 1 in Total Strokes Gained. He’s gained significant distance with his driver this year as well, which has helped him navigate some of the TOUR’s toughest tracks, including Muirfield Village, Oakmont, and Quail Hollow.
Griffin will be teeing it up in Detroit for the third time in his career, with his first two starts resulting in finishes of T31 and T33. He enters play this week in the best form of his life, and is a massive threat to win this tournament. Even at $9,800 on DraftKings, Griffin remains a pretty big bargain in this spot.
Taylor Moore ($7,600)
This is a play strictly based on course history, because Moore’s recent form has been a bit all over the place of late. The 2023 Valspar Champion has a pair of top-25 finishes across his past five starts, which is sandwiched between a T73 and three missed cuts.
That said, Moore loves Detroit Golf Club. He’s finished T10, T4, and sixth in three career starts here. DGC has been known as a bomber’s paradise, as past winners include Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau, and Cam Davis (twice). In addition, other big hitters like Cameron Young, Stephan Jaeger, Min Woo Lee, and Rico Hoey have all logged top-10s as well.
I mention this because Moore sits 29th on the PGA TOUR this season in driving distance, including 21st in this field. He fits the driver-putter archetype that’s thrived here.
At just $7,600 I will gladly take my chance that Moore continues his run of good form in Detroit.
Matt Wallace ($7,500)
Another player who fits the driver-putter mold and has a solid track record at DGC is Matt Wallace.. The Englishman has a pair of top-12 finishes here in four career starts dating back to 2020. Wallace has missed his fair share of cuts this season, but enters play this week having finished T26 or better in five of his past seven starts, including at the PGA Championship and U.S. Open.
Wallace has always fared well on longer courses, with a win at the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship and top-10s at the Memorial, Arnold Palmer Invitational, and Wells Fargo Championship. This event is way more of a birdie fest than the latter three events listed above, but the Corales is played on a resort-style course, which is not too dissimilar from the conditions players will see this week.
Detroit boasts wide fairways and pretty much allows you to do whatever you want off-the-tee. Wallace has been getting it done with his elite short-game of late, where he ranks No. 1 in this field in SG: Around-the-Green and 23rd in SG: Putting over his past 24 rounds.
Coming off a T17 at Oakmont his last time out, where he gained 2.5 strokes on approach and another 3.5 on the greens, Wallace sets up great for this week at a course he’s played well at in the past.
