Ironheart makes her return to the Marvel Universe after first appearing in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Only now, Riri Williams will take center stage in her own miniseries, appropriately named after her superhero moniker.
In addition to this being the second MCU-related project to feature Ironheart, this show will also be the entry point for a few other Marvel characters. Before looking at the cast, let’s take stock of a little housekeeping.
Timing Notes
Like previous Marvel shows, Ironheart will hit Disney+ on Tuesday evenings at 9 p.m. Eastern Time, starting with June 24.
Where this six-episode miniseries differs is this will only have two drops. The first comes on the aforementioned June 24 release, which will include episodes 1-3 of Ironheart. The second drop will be at 9 p.m. on July 1, which will include episodes 4-6.
There’s been no indication of how long these episodes will be. Both Agatha All Along and Daredevil: Born Again had varied episode lengths. Episodes being shorter than 30 minutes seems unlikely, given what we’ve gotten before. As much as it’s only six episodes in total, an hour apiece while dropping three at a time seems odd, too. Planning for a general range of 40 minutes per episode feels safe.
Cast Notes
Joining Dominique Thorne as Ironheart will be Anthony Ramos as Parker Robbins (a.k.a The Hood) and Eric André as Rampage.
As Marvel fleshes out their street-level roster following the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, The Hood is someone who has the potential to play a role in that space. In the comics, he operates in the New York underground crime scene.
He’s also got some mystical abilities, which could tie him to Mephisto. The oft-discussed villain is rumored to be tied to this project. However, there’s been no confirmation from Marvel Studios about Mephisto entering the mix, so that’s just a rumor for now.
