MLB Picks: Player Props and Team Props for Monday, June 23, 2025

Walker Buehler over 2.5 earned runs allowed -115 vs. Los Angeles Angels

Walker Buehler has struggled significantly on the mound this season. In his most recent start, he surrendered eight runs on eight hits in just 3.1 innings against the Mariners, ballooning his ERA to 5.95, with a 4.67 xERA and a 5.34 FIP. His road performance is particularly concerning, with a 9.23 ERA and a 7.17 FIP. Home runs have been a persistent problem, as Buehler has allowed 12, resulting in a 1.8 HR/9 rate. He has given up at least three earned runs in seven of his 12 starts, making it difficult to expect anything less. Opposing hitters are batting over .300 against three of his pitches: his four-seam fastball (.333), cutter (.421), and slider (.299). Despite facing a below-average Angels offense, Buehler’s struggles make the over 2.5 earned runs allowed a reasonable bet.

Manny Machado 2+ total bases +100 vs. Washington Nationals

Machado has been crushing left-handed pitching, which works out great, seeing as he’s facing one tonight. Mitchell Parker will be taking the mound for the Nationals in this start against the Padres. While Parker only had a .314 wOBA against right-handed bats, he does have a 4.44 FIP and allowed eight of the nine home runs he’s given up. As for Machado, he currently sports a .401 wOBA with a .304 ISO and a 163 wRC+ this season against lefties. Parker mostly throws a four-seam fastball, doing so 58% of the time. Against that pitch from lefties, Machado has a .468 wOBA and a .462 ISO, both of which are the best amongst tonight’s expected lineup.

Machado is also part of my featured parlay on DraftKings Sportsbook tonight. You can view the other legs and add it to your bet slip from this article below.

Arizona Diamondbacks over 13.5 team total bases -105 vs. Chicago White Sox

The Arizona Diamondbacks’ offense has been potent, averaging 5.2 runs per game over their last seven games, accumulating significant total bases. Heading into their matchup against Shane Smith and the Chicago White Sox bullpen, I predict they will exceed 13.5 team total bases. Despite Smith’s 2.85 ERA, his xERA nears 4.00, indicating potential vulnerability. His recent start against the Cardinals exposed these weaknesses, surrendering six runs (five earned) in 4.1 innings. Previously, he struggled against the Astros, allowing seven runs and two walks over six innings. The Diamondbacks’ expected lineup excels against four-seam fastballs, Smith’s primary pitch, boasting a .380 wOBA and .262 ISO against right-handed pitchers.
