The final Signature Event of the season came down to the final hole, when Keegan Bradley rallied for a stunning win over Tommy Fleetwood. Fleetwood bogeyed hole No. 18, but Bradley knocked his approach shot close and converted that six-foot birdie putt to win the tournament for the second time in the last three years.
Bradley is always a fan favorite as the captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup, and he’s especially beloved in New England as a native of Vermont. He is projected to move into the top 10 of the U.S. Ryder Cup points list with this win, which was the eighth PGA TOUR victory of his career.
Bradley made five birdies on the day along with two bogeys. He dropped a 64-foot birdie on No. 9 to tie for the lead and made a 36-foot putt on No. 15 as well.
Despite those two long, improbable putts, Bradley trailed by two strokes with three holes to play. He was behind Fleetwood, who started the day with a three-stroke lead in search of his first PGA TOUR victory. Fleetwood made a bogey on No. 16 and No. 18 while Bradley’s birdie on the final hole of the tournament was enough to get him the win.
Captain Clutch came through when it mattered, though, and he continues his impressive season with nine top-25 finishes in his 15 events and just a single missed cut.
In the DraftKings PGA TOUR $800K SUMMER SAND TRAP, Bradley was owned in 18.5% of entries, while Fleetwood was in 15.6% of entries. Fleetwood ended up with a +2 on the day and tied for second with Russell Henley. The winning entry from DREAMCRUSHER, had all three of those players in addition to Jason Day, who tied for fourth, and Justin Thomas and Harry Hall, who each finished in the top 10.
