Kevin Durant trade: How Rockets’ acquisition impacted odds on DraftKings Sportsbook

The Rockets shook the NBA world on Sunday afternoon before Game 7 of the NBA Finals. They acquired 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the NBA Draft, and a handful of second-round picks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The trade will obviously have a huge impact on both teams in the 2025-26 season and huge ramifications for the rest of the Association as well. In this post, we’ll take a look at how the odds shifted for the Rockets on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Rockets updated 2025-26 odds

In the 2024-25 season, the Rockets earned the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, going 52-30, but they lost a seven-game series to the Warriors in the first round of the NBA Playoffs with Jalen Green struggling badly in the postseason.

Before the trade went down, they were +350 to make the Western Conference Finals, +750 to win the conference and +1200 to win the NBA Championship. After the trade, they moved to +190 to make the Conference Finals, +400 to win the Conference and +750 to win the NBA Finals.

To put it another way, here’s how each line moved because of the trade:

  • Finals winner: +1200 to +750
  • Western Conference winner: +750 to +400
  • To make WCF: +350 to +190

Currently, they have the second-shortest odds in each of those three markets behind only the Thunder.
