How the public is betting Thunder vs. Pacers Game 7

It all comes down to Sunday night when the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers battle it out one more time in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. This is a breakdown of the public betting splits and most popular player prop bets for the winner-take-all clash.

Oklahoma City is a seven-point favorite over Indiana at DraftKings Sportsbook, with a total of O/U 214.5 points.

Betting Splits

The NBA Finals return to Oklahoma City one last time for Game 7. Despite the Pacers winning a commanding Game 6 to force a Game 7, the Thunder are favored once more by seven. However, following Indiana’s performance in Game 6, bettors are gaining confidence in the Pacers, as 61% of bets and 63% of the handle are on Indiana Moneyline compared to 39% of the bets and 37% of the handle for OKC. Bettors are also expecting a closer game in the finale, as 69% of bets and 62% of the handle back Indiana to cover the seven-point spread while 31% of bets and 38% of the handle are taking the Thunder in another safe victory.

When it comes to the total, set for 214.5 in Game 7, both the public and bigger bettors are expecting a big night from both offenses. Currently, 72% of the bets and 62% of the betting handle have the game going over, with just 28% of bets and 38% of the handle taking the under. In the five of the six NBA Finals games, the game has gone over 214.5 points.

Though there are numerous player props to choose from and bet on for each NBA Finals Game, the “First Points Scorer” prop continues to be one of the most popular ones. First Points Scorer is exactly as it sounds, which is a bet on which player will score first in the game. For Game 7, Pascal Siakam is demanding the most bets after leading the Pacers in postseason scoring. Thunder star and NBA MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, is also generating a lot of tickets, with his first point scorer prop coming in as the second-most bet player prop.

Outside of the “first points scorer” market, the public is hoping the Game 7 intensity may cause some issues for some players’ shooting. Both Luguentz Dort and Aaron Nesmith are two of the top-five most-bet player props for under 1.5 made three-pointers despite both averaging more in the NBA Finals. Dort is averaging 2.5 made three-pointers on 51.7% shooting in the Finals, but he has made under 1.5 threes in three of the six games so far, including Game 6. Nesmith, however, is making 2.7 threes per game on 48.5% shooting, including 4.3 per game on the road in the Finals on 57.6% shooting.

On the flip side, following another solid showing from T.J. McConnell coming off the bench, bettors are expecting another double-digit performance from him, backing him to go over 9.5 points in the finale. McConnell has hit 10 points in four of the six NBA Finals games, including the past two and two of three on the road.
