If he couldn’t step up in Game 6, why would he in Game 7? Haliburton was broken, yet he outplayed the better team. Now he’s healthier and brimming with confidence. It’s all narrative—and in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, narratives are everything. Throw out the advanced stats. Ignore the sims. This comes down to heart. The Pacers are pacemakers, keeping hearts alive all postseason. What’s one more game?

T.J. McConnell, Indiana Pacers at Oklahoma City Thunder ($5,800) — Did someone say heart? T.J. McConnell is a grinder. He transferred from Duquesne to Arizona, went undrafted, and was picked up by the Pacers. Since then, he’s been a solid second-unit star and spot starter. He’s a gamer. Unsung heroes shine in Game 7s, and McConnell hustles on both ends. His steals have busted slates. Why wouldn’t he bring that same hustle to Game 7 of the NBA Finals?

Jalen Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Indiana Pacers ($10,800) — It’s Pascal Siakam ($10,600) or Jalen Williams. Pascal Siakam has been steady throughout the postseason, while Williams is more mercurial. This is the last GPP of the season—steady or ceiling? Everyone knows the answer. Steady doesn’t win GPPs, and it definitely doesn’t win showdown slates. It’s not about who wins; it’s about who goes off. Siakam can have a great game, but he’s unlikely to break the slate. Williams could play second fiddle to SGA or go nuclear. He scored 56.5 fantasy points in OKC’s last home game.

Aaron Nesmith, Indiana Pacers at Oklahoma City Thunder ($5,000) — Better to “Aaron” on the side of caution. Aaron Nesmith is a safe pick. He’s scored over 20 fantasy points in five of the six NBA Finals games (14 fantasy points in the Pacers’ Game 3 blowout loss). His upside is limited, with 29 fantasy points as his best performance in Game 1, but his consistent floor gets the job done on a slate with limited value.

Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers at Oklahoma City Thunder ($5,600) — This hasn’t been a stellar series for the Pacers’ veteran leader, Myles Turner. He’s been with the team longer than any player, coach or front-office executive—only the popcorn vendor has more seniority. Turner hasn’t been bad, but his popcorn lacks flavor: it’s microwave popcorn, not authentic movie-theater popcorn. Still, he’s a safe pick with some upside. Despite poor shooting, Turner consistently scores around 20 fantasy points per game. His shots aren’t dropping, but he’s still popping, firing up threes without hesitation. It’s unlikely the vet puts a lid on it in Game 7.

Obi Toppin, Indiana Pacers at Oklahoma City Thunder ($5,400) — Obi Toppin was poppin’ in Game 6, tossing four triples down the chute, grabbing six boards and adding two steals in just 23 minutes. He scored double-digits in Games 5, 4 and 1. Like many players mentioned, Toppin isn’t a flashy regular-season stat jockey—he’s a gamer, a former NCAA Player of the Year from a small school. Overlooked throughout his career, Toppin mirrors the Pacers, a team often counted out. The same can be said for Indiana. This is Indy’s chance to be more than a race town.
