The Pacers need a spark to keep their season alive, and they should look no further than Bennedict Mathurin. Indiana trails 3-2 with Game 6 at home on Thursday night.
Tyrese Haliburton is expected to play and “gut it out” with a right calf strain, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. That said, he could still be hobbled.
Mathurin is a player that will need to step up in order for the team to force a Game 7 in Oklahoma City.
The Pacers are 5.5-point underdogs for Thursday’s Game 6 in Indiana. The game total is set at 222 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Bennedict Mathurin over 11.5 points (-110)
Mathurin is a bench player, but he’s had performances that could warrant a starting spot in these playoffs. He’s scored at least 20 points four times in this run, including in Game 3 vs. the Thunder.
What’s most impressive about these games is that he’s playing no more than 27 minutes. One of his 20-point games even came in just 12:29. When he’s on fire, things can get dangerous for the Thunder.
That being said, Mathurin does have his off-nights, too. He’s a rotation player and sometimes doesn’t even play 20 minutes. That shouldn’t be the case in Game 6 considering Haliburton is dealing with an injury.
The Pacers will need another player to step up, and who better to do so than Mathurin. Rick Carlisle should play him more tonight, even if Haliburton plays regular minutes. Mathurin’s scoring ability will be extremely valuable.
While Mathurin has missed the over 11.5 mark in three of the five NBA Finals games, he’s in a better spot to hit the over in Game 6.
