The third Grand Slam on the tennis calendar is rapidly approaching, and the best players in the world will be heading to London for Wimbledon.
These are my best bets to target on DraftKings Sportsbook for the women’s singles futures market.
2025 Wimbledon Odds: Women’s Singles
The 2025 Wimbledon Championships begin on June 30 and run through the first two weeks of July. The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club is one of the most historic venues in all of sport. Wimbledon is the only one of the four Grand Slams that is played on grass, and that comes with its own dress code for the players. The iconic event was won by Barbora Krejcikova on the women’s singles side last year. This is a look at the best bets to make at DraftKings Sportsbook on who will be the 2025 Women’s Singles Wimbledon Champion.
For two decades, the Williams sisters dominated Wimbledon on the women’s side. From 2000-2019, there were 20 Wimbledon Women’s Singles Finals, and 16 of the 20 featured at least one Williams sister. On four of those occasions, the sisters faced each other for the title. Ultimately, Serena won seven Wimbledon titles, and Venus won five. There was no Wimbledon in 2020 due to COVID, and the Williams sisters never made it back. Since then, there has been a power vacuum at Wimbledon. Since 2020, only Ons Jabeur has made the Wimbledon Final more than once, and she lost both appearances. The four winners since then, only made the Wimbledon Final in their winning year, but not before or since. Additionally, there have been a lot of upset winners in those years.
None of the current top-10 women in the world has won a Wimbledon singles title. Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka, who have dominated the past few years of women’s tennis, have all never even made a Wimbledon Final. Could this be the year that one of them breaks through at The All England Club? Or will it once again be a player further down the odds board who gets it done at Wimbledon? Here are my two best bets to win it all in July:
Elena Rybakina (+600)
Elena Rybakina has the best odds at this year’s Wimbledon of any former champion. Rybakina was the 2022 Wimbledon champion, her lone Grand Slam title. After winning Wimbledon in 2022 and reaching the 2023 Australian Open Final, Rybakina seemed like the next big thing in women’s tennis. She made it up to No. 3 in the world, but was never able to build any further than that. She has won titles since then, but has not made it back to a Grand Slam Final. She dealt with multiple injuries and illnesses in 2024, which led to her dropping to No. 11 in the world, where she currently sits. Despite her struggling form in 2024, she still managed to make the semifinals at Wimbledon, but was upset by the eventual champion, Barbora Krejcikova.
Rybakina is arguably the best grass player in the game. She is 19-3 in her career at Wimbledon and seems to have found her game heading into Wimbledon. She reached the fourth round at the French Open before losing to Iga Swiatek in three sets, nothing to scoff at. Her exceptional first serve and flat ground strokes are perfect for grass, and if she can get on a roll, she will be nearly impossible to beat in this tournament. Her biggest problem is her mental game. She often plays up or down to her competition, upsetting the likes of Aryna Sabalenka in Grand Slams over the years, but losing to inferior players like Krejcikova in 2024. Rybakina is now the No. 11 player in the world, so maybe she will maybe to carry that underdog mentality through the tournament more easily. None of the top players in the world have been able to prove at Wimbledon in the past, so if Rybakina finds her confidence, she has a fantastic chance to win this tournament.
Madison Keys (+1500)
Further down the odds board, Madison Keys is my favorite pick. Keys has been a great player for over a decade, but has been unable to break through to that elite level until this year. Prior to 2025, Keys had only made one Grand Slam Final, in 2017, where she lost the US Open to Sloane Stephens. To start this year, Keys went on an incredible run, beating Elena Rybakina, Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka en route to an Australian Open title, her first ever Grand Slam title. Keys followed that up with a respectable performance at the French Open, losing to eventual champion Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals. Keys could be poised to make a run at her second Grand Slam title of the year here at Wimbledon. She has made a couple of Wimbledon quarterfinals in the past, but never further than that. She will need to break through that ceiling this year, just like she did in Australia.
Keys is a great grass player. She has a 75% win rate in matches on grass, by far her best record across the three surfaces. She has also proven that she can beat all of the top players who will try to stand in her way at Wimbledon. Since the start of 2024, she has defeated Ons Jabeur, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka. When she has her best tennis, she can compete with anyone in the world, just as she did in Australia. With the upsets we have seen on the women’s side at Wimbledon in recent years, it could be Keys who wins her second Grand Slam title of the year.
