Philadelphia has been incredible on the road this season, having the fifth-best record (19-17) in baseball away from Citizens Bank Park. Shortstop Trea Turner has been their most consistent hitter this season, batting .308 with 90 hits. Turner is second in the MLB in hits and 12th in average. Along with Turner, Alec Bohm has taken his game to the next level in the last week. During that span, he is batting .333 with eight hits, nine RBIs, and two home runs.
Phillies at Marlins pick, best bet
A big victory would be possible if the Phillies could get another good outing from Suarez while having Turner and Bohm lead the offense. The Phillies are -172 on the moneyline, but the better value play is to get them -1.5. Seven of their previous 10 wins have been by at least two runs.
The Phillies’ offense has been productive lately, scoring five-plus runs in four of their last six contests. However, Philadelphia’s pitching staff struggled yesterday, allowing eight runs, the most it had allowed in the previous week. Suarez has pitched at least six innings in his last seven starts, which is good news with a shaky bullpen.
