Seattle Mariners vs. Boston Red Sox prediction, pick for Tuesday 6/17/25

Last night, the Boston Red Sox took a 2-0 road win over the Seattle Mariners. On Tuesday night, they look to run it back as road warriors again and push their winning streak to seven straight games.

Here’s a Mariners vs. Red Sox prediction and pick on DraftKings Sportsbook for Tuesday night’s contest in the MLB late slate.

Mariners vs. Red Sox prediction, preview

Seattle Mariners

The Mariners are on their Katy Perry arc with some hot-and-cold play lately. After getting swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks to start last week, they proceeded to sweep the Cleveland Guardians over their weekend series. The M’s now sit 36-35 on the season after last night as they battle to remain above .500 and chase the Houston Astros for the AL West lead.

Seattle’s offense sits 11th in OPS and 15th in runs scored on the year with a pitching staff ranked 18th in ERA and 19th in WHIP. In last night’s contest, they recorded just four hits on the evening as stars Julio Rodriguez, Cal Raleigh, and Randy Arozarena all went hitless themselves. That probably won’t happen again, so they should fare better tonight.

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox made waves by trading Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants earlier in the week, but their play has also been headline-worthy in recent days. The Sox ride a six-game winning streak into tonight’s game with a 38-36 record on the season. In a tough AL East, they remain just fourth place and 1.5 games back of third. However, they can certainly climb.

The Boston offense falls sixth overall in OPS and fifth in runs scored this season. Their pitching staff hasn’t matched that high-end production though as they’re ranked 17th in ERA and 20th in WHIP. However, the hurlers are eighth in strikeouts, so there’s something to work with there. The Red Sox also logged just four hits in last night’s win as Jarren Duran, Kristian Campbell, Abraham Toro-Hernandez and Roman Anthony all tallied a knock — in particular, the rookie was the star of the show as Anthony recorded his first major-league homer.

Mariners vs. Red Sox pick, best bet

DraftKings Sportsbook lists the Mariners as -173 favorites on the Moneyline. The Red Sox hold +141 odds of an outright win with a low run total of seven.

The home team has an advantage tonight as Bryan Woo takes the mound for the Mariners. The right-handed ace boasts a miniscule 0.98 WHIP through 82.1 innings along with a 3.39 ERA and 72 strikeouts. As for the Red Sox, veteran righty Walker Buehler starts with a 1.38 WHIP, 5.01 ERA, and 51 strikeouts across 55.2 innings this season.

My first thought for tonight’s betting card was to take Mariners slugger Cal Raleigh to record a home run given Buehler’s high 1.78 HR/9 and elevated ERA. However, I’d actually rather take Seattle -1.5 at +127 odds since it feels a little safer and the Mariners should have a distinct advantage in the pitching battle. If Woo holds the Red Sox in check to start, this bet should comfortably hit.

Best bet: SEA Mariners -1.5 (+127)
