MLB Picks: Player Props and Team Props for Monday, June 16, 2025
Jose Soriano over 2.5 earned runs allowed -110
Soriano has been difficult to predict. He’s had both strong and weak starts, reflected in his 3.86 ERA and 3.97 xERA. In eight of his 14 starts, he has allowed more than 2.5 earned runs. Tonight, he faces a Yankees lineup that excels against sinkers, his primary pitch, which he throws 55% of the time. Opposing hitters have a .340 wOBA against it. The expected Yankees lineup, including Giancarlo Stanton, has a combined .378 wOBA and .178 ISO since last season against the sinker. I expect the Yankees to handle Soriano and score at least three earned runs.
Cal Raleigh 2+ total bases +115
Raleigh has been a total bases standout this season, averaging 2.2 total bases over 69 games. His 26 home runs are a major factor, complemented by 12 doubles. He’s nearly matched his 2024 total of 16 doubles from 153 games. Tonight, he faces Lucas Giolito, who frequently surrenders home runs. Last season, Giolito gave up 41 home runs in 33 starts, and this year, he’s allowed six in 39.2 innings. A key issue for Giolito is his four-seam fastball, which opposing hitters are crushing, posting a .355 average, .375 wOBA, and .299 xBA against it. While some regression is expected, hitters continue to find success against this pitch.
