Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants prediction, pick for Friday 6/13/25

The Giants and Dodgers kick off a glorious rivalry series tonight, with the stakes high in the NL West standings. The Dodgers sit atop the division, with the Giants right behind them. This series has serious implications, deep-rooted vitriol, territorial pride. It has it all, and tonight’s matchup features two of the league’s top pitchers. Logan Webb (2.58 ERA) starts for the Giants, while the Dodgers counter with Yoshinobu Yamamoto (2.20 ERA). Both are enjoying career-best seasons, making this a battle of elite arms. Below, I’ve got my preview, prediction, and best bet for this Friday night baseball game between the Dodgers and the Giants.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Dodgers vs. Giants prediction, preview

Webb’s performance has been stellar. He avoids free passes (4.8% walk rate) and keeps hitters off-balance with a 28.5% strikeout rate. His groundball-heavy style (95th percentile groundball rate) keeps opposing offenses from getting comfortable. However, San Francisco’s offense has not supported him consistently. Despite strong pitching, they sit just 20th in wRC+ against right-handed pitchers since June 1. Without Matt Chapman and Patrick Bailey, their lineup looks thin, and they rank 25th in team batting average (.233).

Yamamoto, meanwhile, has been equally dominant. His 2.20 ERA is backed by excellent control and the ability to generate soft contact, ranking 84th percentile in barrel rate and 95th in groundball rate. He faces a Giants offense struggling to find consistency on the road. Over their last 13 road games, the Giants are 2-11 to the over. In contrast, the Dodgers are hitting .265 as a team with 105 home runs on the season, good for second in the league. Even with the powerful Dodgers lineup, Webb’s groundball tendency gives him a fighting chance to limit the damage.

Giants vs. Dodgers pick, best bet

In terms of recent form, the Dodgers have won 8 of their last 9 home games against the Giants, further emphasizing their home dominance. With both teams boasting elite starters, the total feels more precarious. While the Dodgers are a clear favorite at home, their bullpen has been shaky at times, and the Giants’ bullpen has shown promise with a 2.97 ERA in June. However, the Dodgers’ bullpen is fourth in the MLB in ERA over the past 14 days, and their ability to shut down opponents late in games is a clear advantage. The key here lies in the starters—if Webb and Yamamoto continue their dominant pitching, runs will be at a premium. The under is appealing, but the Dodgers’ lineup has the power edge, and I trust them to edge out San Francisco in a tight contest.

While the under is a strong lean, I’m leaning towards the Dodgers on the runline. At home, they’ve been formidable (23-11) and have dominated this matchup historically, winning eight of their last nine against the Giants at Dodger Stadium. Even with Webb on the mound, the Giants’ lack of offensive depth makes it hard to see them keeping up with L.A.’s firepower. The Dodgers have also hit the over in 16 of their last 21 home games, a trend that suggests they can produce runs in bunches at home, especially with their potent offense.

Best bet: Dodgers -1.5 (+125) vs. Giants
