New York Yankees at Kansas City Royals prediction, pick for Wednesday 6/11/25

The New York Yankees got back in the win column last night in a big way against the Kansas City Royals. New York beat Kansas City 10-2 while having an incredible offensive performance with 16 hits, 10 RBIs, and two home runs.

Tonight, in the second of a three-game series, the Yankees have Clarke Schmidt on the mound while the Royals are starting Kris Bubic. Here is my breakdown of the game and my best bet for the contest on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Yankees at Royals Preview

The matchup has been one-sided this season. The Yankees are 4-0 against the Royals, and New York has also won four of the previous five meetings at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals have the pitching edge in tonight’s game with Bubic. He has been tremendous this year, having a 1.43 ERA, which is the best in the MLB, while going 5-3. But the good news for the Yankees is that this isn’t the first time they’ve faced Bubic this season. The first time Bubic faced the Yankees, he allowed seven hits and three earned runs en route to a 4-3 New York victory.

Yankees starter Schmidt has had an up-and-down season. He is 2-3 with a 4.04 ERA. He has allowed three runs in two of his last three starts. But two of Schmidt’s previous three starts have resulted in a win.

Yankees at Royals pick, best bet

Even though the Royals have the pitching advantage in this matchup, they have struggled to score runs lately. Kansas City has scored two or fewer runs in two of its previous three contests. This season, the Royals are averaging 3.4 runs per game, the third fewest in baseball. The Royals are also 10-15 in their last 25 games while the Yankees are 17-8 in that span. The Yankees rank third in the MLB, with 5.52 runs per contest.

Getting the Yankees at -132 on DraftKings Sportsbook is a good play, considering how this matchup has been trending recently. The Yankees have the best record on the road this season at 19-13 with a .594 winning percentage.

Best Bet: Yankees Moneyline (-132)
