MLB Picks for Wednesday, June 11, 2025
New York Mets Team Total over 2.5 runs through the first five innings -125
This bet caught my eye with Jake Irvin pitching for the Nationals. Irvin’s earned runs allowed line is set at 3.5, and his outs recorded line is at 16.5. This is a challenging matchup for Irvin, who struggles against left-handed hitters. This season, he has a .345 wOBA and a 5.05 FIP against them, with eight of his 11 allowed home runs coming from lefties. The Mets’ expected lineup tonight features at least six left-handed hitters, including two switch-hitters. Although Irvin had success against the Mets earlier this season, advanced stats suggest he benefited from strong defensive play. Given the Mets’ high-scoring offense in June, I expect a different outcome this time.
Texas Rangers team total over 3.5 runs -125
The Rangers’ recent offensive struggles appear to be behind them. Over the past week, they’ve scored at least four runs in four of their six games, including 16 last night. I expect their offense to continue performing against starter David Festa, who will make his fifth start. Festa has struggled so far, pitching 16.2 innings with a 5.40 ERA, a 6.23 xERA, and a 4.51 FIP. While he has strong strikeout ability, his command is inconsistent, and he struggles to keep the ball in the park. He hasn’t pitched beyond 4.2 innings in any of his four starts this season, which could further strain an already taxed bullpen. I was surprised to see the Rangers’ team total set at 3.5 runs, so I’m taking the over.
Junior Caminero 3+ H/R/RBI +115
Caminero has a favorable matchup against Red Sox starter Walker Buehler. Buehler is coming off back-to-back poor outings against the Yankees and Braves, where he pitched 7.2 innings, allowing 12 runs (10 earned) on 17 hits, including four home runs. Caminero has excelled against Buehler’s primary pitches, the slider and sinker, which account for approximately 49% of his pitches. This season, Caminero has a .427 wOBA and .344 ISO against sliders and a .458 wOBA with a .333 ISO against sinkers.
