Min Woo Lee first round prop bet for the U.S. Open

The U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club (par 70, 7,372 yards, POA annua greens) in Oakmont, Pennsylvania begins Thursday morning. Below, I have featured my favorite Min Woo Lee first round prop to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Min Woo Lee over 73.5 strokes (-130)

Lee heads to Oakmont in questionable form. After winning the Houston Open in March, Lee’s game has gone in the wrong direction, finishing T49th, T61st, T51st, MC and T49th. During this stretch, Lee has lost strokes on approach at four of these five tournaments and he ranks 145th of 179 golfers in SG APP this season.

Lee has five top 25 finishes on his resume this season, but he has been prone to bad starts. Lee ranks 148th in first round scoring average and in the first rounds of his last two starts, Lee has shot 76 at the PGA Championship and 74 and the Memorial Tournament. Both these tournaments were played at tough courses, but neither of these venues compare to the test that awaits at Oakmont this week.

The last two editions of the U.S. Open played at Oakmont have produced an average score of 4.4 strokes over par. Plus, Thursday is setting up to be a beautiful day in Oakmont weather wise, which should result in the course playing fast and firm, making this already brutal test of golf even more difficult. Lee should post a high number at Oakmont on Thursday, so backing him for over 73.5 strokes in the first round has a ton of merit.
