To cap off tonight’s MLB slate, the San Diego Padres host the Los Angeles Dodgers for a battle between NL West rivals and league contenders. Both teams are 5-5 across their last 10 contests with the Dodgers claiming an 8-7 win over the Friars just last night to start the series.

As these Padres and Dodgers square off again tonight, here’s the top Fernando Tatis Jr. prop bet to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Slashing .260/.337/.459 with a .796, Tatis isn’t quite matching his lines of his best seasons. That’s not to say he’s having a poor campaign by any means though — with 64 hits and 13 home runs in 63 games, he’s still one of the anchors of a successful Padres squad with genuine playoff aspirations.

The Dodgers have seen a litany of injuries to their pitching staff, meaning reliever Lou Trivino gets the start tonight at Petco Park. He’s thrown to the tune of a 1.74 ERA and 1.16 WHIP this season along with 10 strikeouts for the Dodgers, but the veteran has seen just 10.1 innings of work and only has one career start to his name. It’s a bullpen game, meaning a Dodgers stable with a 3.88 ERA and 1.26 WHIP should see plenty of work in this outing.

That’s something Tatis can capitalize on tonight. While the young star has been in a slump lately, this looks like an opportunity for him to get back on the right foot against a patchwork pitching staff. He’s hitting .283 against right-handers, so he sees the benefit against a righty hurler in this one.

Call me crazy, but I actually really like Tatis to hit a home run tonight against the Dodgers. He’s only smashed one long ball in his last 15 games and hasn’t hit one over his last seven outings. Tatis feels long overdue, so against this Dodgers bullpen and a guy who usually doesn’t get the starting nod, I truly think he can snap out of this funk. It’s a long shot, but at +360 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, I’m taking the value over the risk on a Tatis homer.
