The second game of this series is on Tuesday night at American Family Field between the Brewers and Braves.
Grant Holmes is scheduled to pitch for Atlanta, while Quinn Priester will take the mound for Milwaukee.

Grant Holmes is having an up-and-down second season with the Braves. In his first MLB season, he made 26 appearances, but only seven of those were starts. He entered this season as a full-time member of the Braves’ rotation, making 12 starts so far in 2025. He has a 3.99 ERA, with some solid starts, but also some total blowups. He has started to find more consistency in his past few starts. In his last five games, he has a 3.18 ERA with nine strikeouts per nine innings. Holmes did start a game on the road in Milwaukee last season, giving up one run in five innings in that game. So, it could give Holmes some comfort knowing that he has performed well in this building in the past.
Quinn Priester is an inexperienced starting pitcher, just like Holmes. He made eight starts in 2023 and seven starts in 2024. He was thrust into the Brewers’ rotation this season, already making as many starts as he did in all of 2024. He has started seven games, but also made four appearances out of the bullpen. He is now in line to start this game, his first start in over two weeks. Priester has a 3.88 ERA this season, averaging 5.8 strikeouts per nine innings. He has really struggled against left-handers this season, allowing a 129 tOPS+ against left-handed batters this season.
Braves at Brewers pick, best bet
The Braves have been in a major slump, losing eight of their past 10 games. They already trail the Mets by 13.5 games in the NL East, and it will be a massive uphill battle for them to make the postseason, let alone win the division. That being said, Atlanta looked great in the first game of the series on Monday night. Chris Sale pitched a gem and the Braves put up seven runs, making it a dominant victory in Milwaukee. The pitching situation will be much different on Tuesday night. While Holmes and Priester have been solid at times, they are both still very inexperienced and have been hit hard at times this season.
My favorite bet for this game is for Christian Yelich to have two or more total bases. Yelich has been on a tear over the past two weeks. In his past 12 games, he is batting .356 and has an OPS of 1.076. That is a 189 tOPS+ over those two weeks. He has been fantastic against right-handed pitching this season, sporting a 130 tOPS+ against righties in 2025. He can pick up an extra-base hit or get multiple singles to register at least two total bases and cash this bet.
