Monday night is host to a nine-game MLB DFS slate and there’s a ton of ways to get your fantasy baseball fix on DraftKings, including GPPs, Tiers and Pick6.
However, this article will be focusing on picks for cash games, contests where your entry fee is doubled and almost half of the players are paid out. In on-diamond terms, we’re looking to hit singles with these lineups, not home runs. Variance is not a factor here. We’re just looking for the safest DFS assets of the night.
With all that in mind, let’s dive into my top picks.

SP Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves at Milwaukee Brewers, $10,000
It’s silly that this is the first time Sale’s price tag is at or over $10,000 this season, but it’s not like a couple extra hundred dollars should be a deterrent. The reigning NL Cy Young Award winner was a little shaky to begin 2025, but Sale’s been a picture of consistency as of late, pitching to a 1.17 ERA with a 32.5% strikeout rate over his last six starts. That’s also a span where Sale’s exceeded 26.0 FPTS four times, never bringing back fewer than 18.2 FPTS.
In my GPP picks for this slate, I highlighted Zack Wheeler as the contrarian option to Sale, noting that the Phillies’ ace would see a lower ownership due to a lackluster recent outing and a difficult matchup against the Cubs. That doesn’t matter here. Sale combines the sturdiest floor with nearly unmatched ceiling. He’s squaring-off with a Brewers’ lineup that has just a .115 ISO and an 89 wRC+ against LHPs. He’s going to dominate.
SS Jacob Wilson, Athletics at Los Angeles Angels, $5,100
When I say Wilson is the perfect archetype for a cash game, that obviously doesn’t include assets that are simply generational talents, like Shohei Ohtani ($6,500) and Aaron Judge. But outside of that world, it’s hard to get more secure than Wilson, who enters tonight’s matchup with the Angels as one of only two players in MLB that have racked up at least 90 hits. The rookie infielder just puts the ball in play — a lot. Wilson combines a 100th percentile strikeout rate (6.0%) with a 17th percentile walk rate (5.2%), which has translated into the most batted ball events in the league (236). This isn’t empty volume, either, as Wilson sports a 98th percentile expected batting average (.315).
Specific to Monday, Wilson and the Athletics will see Yusei Kikuchi ($7,700). The veteran has been very solid since signing with Los Angeles, yet he is left-handed. Wilson is slashing .422/.469/.578 off southpaws in 2025 with a 201 wRC+. He’s not likely to hit a home run, yet I’d be shocked if Wilson brings back a goose egg on this slate.
OF George Springer, Toronto Blue Jays at St. Louis Cardinals, $4,300
I’ll be honest, Springer was not on my cash game radar coming into 2025, but the veteran is in the midst of a true bounce-back campaign. The 35-year-old enters play on Monday in possession of a 98th percentile barrel rate (19.7%), a 96th percentile expected slugging percentage (.571) and a 95th percentile expected wOBA (.403). Yes, Springer has sacrificed some contact rate to accomplish these feats, but his 23.3% strikeout rate ranks only in the 40th percentile of MLB. He’s not Adam Dunn or anything like that.
Tonight, the Blue Jays will take on Andre Pallante ($7,200), who owns an ugly 5.80 ERA and a 5.17 FIP across his last nine starts. In that time, Pallante has had serious issues with RHBs. In fact, right-handed bats have combined to hit .337 off the RHP with a massive .424 wOBA. Springer has an extra-base hit in four straight games. I’d expect him to keep that streak alive in this plus-matchup. That he’ll do so with a salary hovering around $4,000 is a bonus.
