One of the best Cruiserweights in the world, Jai Opetaia, defends his IBF title against Claudio Squeo at Gold Coast Convention Centre, in Queensland, Australia, on Sunday, June 8. This card will begin at 5:00 a.m. ET on Dazn with the Main Event ringwalks expected to take place at 8:25 a.m. ET.
Opetaia knocked out David Nyika in the fourth round at this same arena in January. He is one of the best boxers and knockout artists in the world. Opetaia, 29, is 27-0 with 21 knockouts in his boxing career. Squeo is also undefeated and is coming off a second-round knockout victory against Orlando de Jesus Estrada in October 2024.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Opetaia is a massive -8000 favorite and is -2500 to win by KO/TKO/DQ. Opetaia has had seven knockouts in his last nine fights. This is his fifth fight in the previous 13 months and his third defense of the IBF title. In this matchup, Opetaia is three inches taller than Squeo, which should allow him to control the distance and pace of the fight. Opetaia has been on fire and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
The No. 12 best light heavyweight according to BoxRec, Conor Wallace, is fighting Dylan Colin in an eight-round contest. Wallace is 15-1 with 11 knockouts in his career. Colin is 14-1 and is returning after suffering a loss to Daniel Lapin.
